The process involved in Cement manufacturing plant

The cement is manufactured with the mixture of essential components that reacts chemically to form the substance and that is known as the cement. This undergoes several numbers of the process to manufacture quality cement and these cements can be classified into various types. Each type of cement gets varies from each other with the grade measures. This grade decides the quality of the cement and the usage or the benefits of the cement.

The components that is essential for cement manufacturing

All the components used in the manufacturing process of the cement have a significant reaction that to be created chemically for this process. More basically, the cement is the stable mixture of calcium silicates with small amounts of calcium aluminates. When these essential components are reacted with the water then it makes the substance to form the cement.  The calcium used in the chemical reaction in the manufacturing process of the cement is derived from the clay or in the limestone and the component silica and the alumina has been extracted from the source of mudstone and shale. To make the perfect mixture with these components the gypsum of 5% is used for retard the cement setting time.

The blended cement – these blended types of cement are otherwise known as cement substitutes. Some of the substitutes are mentioned below pulverized fuel ash(PFA), ground granulated slag form of the blast –furnace and aka substance known as fly ash. This blended cement also makes its significance on the construction and other material works and the reason behind this is to reduce the environmental impact of complete using cements.

Extraction of limestone

Most of the cement manufacturer usually constructs their cement plants nearest to the limestone deposits. Because it is a big task that acts the calcium from the limestone. According to the variations found in the geological ages of the limestone their thickness and the suitability in the cement manufacturing. This chemical process in the cement manufacture in the cement plant has 16% of the calcium component in the entire production.

Extraction of the silica from the shale

The pure sedimentary rock is commonly known as the shale that contains the clear fine slit and quartz and the clay components. It is also considered as one of the mudstone categories. The only difference found in the shale is that it is laminated and fissile. The size of the grain should be less than 1/256mm.

Extraction of the Gypsum

It is the softest sulfate mineral compounds it can be composed of calcium sulfate dehydrate. The gypsum deposits are more commonly found in the frequently inter-bedded substance like the limestone, mudstones, shale, clays, rock salt, and dolomite, etc. Among these several numbers of available components, only 20% of the gypsum can be utilized in the chemical process of manufacturing the cement.

Further process of the components in the making of cement

After the extraction of the required essential component materials, all these were undergoing the process of crushing and milling to make the materials into very fine powders. The next process for the chemical reaction is mixing and preheating the mixture, with the fine power materials make the perfect mixing this is more significant in improving the quality of the cement. And then underwent the process of preheating with around 900°c. These are the process involved in the cement manufacturing.
